Glory has announced a partnership with Betr, the sports media company co-founded by Jake Paul and Joey Levy, to launch "Glory Underground: Powered by Betr," an exclusive, invite-only kickboxing event series. The inaugural event is scheduled for May 1, 2025, at Betr's headquarters in Miami, Florida, and will be live-streamed globally for free on YouTube.
The highlight of this debut event is a champion vs. champion rematch between Glory welterweight world champion Chico Kwasi and Glory lightweight world champion Tyjani "The Wonderboy" Beztati. The two 27-year-old fighters previously clashed at Glory 96 in October 2024, a bout that ended in a draw, leaving fans eager for a decisive outcome.
Beztati, who signed with Glory in 2016 at just 18, became the youngest fighter to join the organization. He claimed the Glory lightweight world title in 2021 and has successfully defended it five times. Now, he aims to join the ranks of multi-division champions like Alex Pereira and Robin van Roosmalen by securing a second title.
Kwasi, a product of Amsterdam's renowned Mike's Gym, joined Glory in 2023. After three consecutive victories, he captured the welterweight title by defeating Endy Semeleer at Glory 91. He has since defended his belt twice, including the draw with Beztati and a recent win over Teodor Hristov by unanimous decision in February 2025.
Betr creators Derek "Betr Derek" Sullivan and Joey "Betr JoJo" Mauriello will promote the Miami event through a social-led content series. The series will document their journey to the Netherlands, training with fighters and exploring the sport's essence ahead of the fight night.
Marshall Zelaznik, Glory CEO, emphasized the organization's commitment to delivering what fans want by partnering with Betr and their creators to bring compelling bouts directly to the audience. Joey Levy, Betr CEO, highlighted the partnership's goal to create a new kind of sports media experience that resonates with Gen Z fans and taps into the digital zeitgeist.
