Gamrot Shocks Fiziev with a TKO Victory

The main event was expected to be a close and competitive fight between two rising stars in the lightweight division, Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot. Both fighters had impressive records and skills, with Fiziev being a striking phenom and Gamrot being a well-rounded grappler. However, the fight ended in a surprising and unfortunate manner, as Fiziev suffered a leg injury in the second round that forced him to tap out.

The first round was a back-and-forth affair, with both fighters landing some hard shots and showing their toughness. Fiziev seemed to have the edge in the striking exchanges, while Gamrot was able to secure a couple of takedowns and threaten with a guillotine choke. The second round started with more of the same, until Gamrot landed a low kick that caused Fiziev to buckle and fall to the ground. Gamrot followed up with some ground-and-pound, but Fiziev was able to get back to his feet. However, it was clear that something was wrong with Fiziev’s leg, as he could barely stand or move. Gamrot sensed the opportunity and rushed in with more strikes, forcing Fiziev to tap out at 2:03 of the round.

Mitchell Outclasses Ige on the Ground

The co-main event featured a featherweight clash between Bryce Mitchell and Dan Ige, two fighters who were looking to bounce back climb up the rankings. Mitchell was known for his relentless grappling and submission skills, while Ige was a well-rounded fighter who had faced some of the best in the division. The fight turned out to be a one-sided affair, as Mitchell dominated Ige on the ground for three rounds and earned a unanimous decision victory.

Mitchell wasted no time in taking Ige down in the first round and controlling him with his superior wrestling and jiu-jitsu. He transitioned from one position to another, landing some strikes and looking for submissions. He almost finished Ige with an arm-triangle choke, but Ige was able to survive until the end of the round. The second round was more of the same, as Mitchell took Ige down again and maintained his top position. He attempted an armbar and a twister, but Ige defended well and avoided getting tapped out. The third round saw Mitchell take Ige down once more and keep him there until the final horn. The judges scored the fight 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 for Mitchell

Zhilei Zhang beats Joe Joyce

British heavyweight Joe Joyce was sensationally stopped in the third round by Zhilei Zhang in London, leaving his dream of securing a world-title shot - and perhaps his career - in tatters.

Joyce once again struggled against the power of 'Big Bang' Zhang before a thunderous counter right hook floored the Londoner at Wembley's OVO Arena.

The 38-year-old admirably rose to his feet but was in no state to continue. Moments after the referee waved off the contest, Joyce sat on his stool receiving oxygen.

The result comes five months after 40-year-old Zhang's shock sixth-round stoppage win over the previously undefeated Joyce.

The Chinese boxer retains the WBO 'interim' title and mandatory challenger status to unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
