Jake Paul has been training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu with multiple-time world champion Mike Perez in preparation for his MMA debut.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer inked a contract with PFL earlier this month and will aim to help MMA athletes get paid more and have more possibilities. He will also represent the organisation as a fighter advocate. Paul previously trained in mixed martial arts (MMA), and he has hinted at entering the ring by taking on several of the UFC's top competitors, like Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, on multiple occasions.

Paul has a scheduled match against Love Island's Tommy Fury on February 25, but that hasn't prevented him from starting his grappling training, as Perez shared a video of them working out together on Instagram.

In the video, Perez, who appeared to have travelled to Paul's headquarters in Puerto Rico, is heard saying: "First day of jiu-jitsu, let's get it, Jake Paul BJJ!"

Under the tutelage of famous coach Andre Galvao, Perez received his jiu-jitsu black belt in 2017, the same year he took part in the ADCC world finals.

The American practises jiu-jitsu in California at the Atos jiu-jitsu gym and has a 23-17 record in matches involving grappling.

Peter Murray, the head of the PFL, recently suggested that "The Problem Child" would make his MMA debut before the end of the year, although that seems doubtful given that Paul has matches scheduled against Tommy Fury and KSI.
