Boris van der Vorst, honorary chairman of the Dutch boxing association, has been appointed chairman of the new world boxing association. Van der Vorst is one of the founders of this new association that will represent boxing at the Olympic level.

One of Boris van der Vorst's tasks will be to make boxing Olympic again in 2028. Boxing is currently excluded from the 2028 Olympic Games.

Van der Vorst received the majority of votes and thus won the election. “This is the beginning of a new era. We have laid a foundation for our new international federation,” Van der Vorst said in a video call with reporters. Van der Vorst has been elected for two years.
