Oleksandr Usyk knocks out Daniel Dubois to reclaim undisputed heavyweight title

Oleksandr Usyk once again proved he’s the top heavyweight in the world by knocking out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night. The 38-year-old Ukrainian added Dubois’ IBF title to his existing WBA, WBC, and WBO belts, becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time.

Usyk dominated from the start, using his sharp jab and slick movement to frustrate the younger, bigger Dubois. In the fifth round, Usyk landed a hard right hook that sent Dubois down. Though Dubois got up, Usyk quickly followed with a powerful left hook that knocked him out cold, forcing Dubois’ corner to throw in the towel.

This victory extends Usyk’s perfect pro record to 24-0 and marks his third time as undisputed champ—first at cruiserweight, then twice at heavyweight. Dubois, who had shown improvement since their last fight in 2023, suffered his third career loss, all by stoppage and twice to Usyk.

After the fight, Usyk hinted at possible future matchups with top heavyweights like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, or Derek Chisora but said he plans to rest first. Dubois promised he’ll be back.

With this win, Usyk solidifies his status as the best heavyweight of his generation and remains a symbol of hope and pride for Ukraine.
