Nick Diaz wants to fight Israel Adesanya

Nick Diaz may return to the UFC in 2023 to face number one-ranked middleweight fighter Israel Adesanya in what could be an epic showdown.

Nick Diaz hasn't triumphed in a UFC match in almost 11 years, but that hasn't made him any less confident. The native of Stockton is confident about returning to the top and eager to compete against former champion Israel Adesanya.

It's strange to think that Nick Diaz would be facing Israel Adesanya at this point. Diaz struggled to defeat "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler as he was past his prime. Adesanya recently lost his middleweight strap while still in his peak. Therefore, if the two engage in combat, "Izzy" appears to have an easy day versus Nic Diaz.

In a chat with MMA Mania, Nick Diaz said, “You can see me back on top in 2023, I’m making a comeback. I’m going to be quicker than ever, stronger than ever, better than ever — I’m just gonna be a whole new me. Whoever is on top at the time [I want], preferably Israel Adesanya, if he gets his title back.”

Even though Nick Diaz is a legend in MMA, some were hesitant to believe him. The MMA community mocked Nick Diaz's suggestion and called him out for mentioning Israel Adesanya.
