Ukraine’s Vasiliy Lomachenko clinched the IBF lightweight championship title in Perth on Sunday, delivering a masterful 11th-round technical knockout against hometown hero George Kambosos Jr.

Known as "Loma," the two-time Olympic gold medalist showcased his boxing prowess from the opening bell, leaving Kambosos struggling to find his rhythm. Despite Kambosos' valiant effort, Lomachenko's superior footwork and precise combinations kept him in control throughout the bout.

The defining moment came in the 11th round when Lomachenko sent Kambosos to the canvas with a thunderous combination. As the crowd at the RAC Arena erupted, Lomachenko seized the opportunity, unleashing a barrage of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight, securing the victory.

Reflecting on his performance, Lomachenko credited his success to his ability to adapt to Kambosos' style. "My plan was to adjust to my opponent," Lomachenko explained. "I knew I needed to finish strong in the later rounds, and that's exactly what I did."

Throughout the fight, Lomachenko's technical brilliance was on full display, with the 36-year-old landing precise shots and effectively neutralizing Kambosos' offense. In the eighth round, a vicious left hook from Lomachenko opened a cut near Kambosos' right eye, adding to the Ukrainian's dominance.

Despite the loss, Kambosos showed sportsmanship in defeat, acknowledging Lomachenko's skill and congratulating him on his victory. With this win, Lomachenko cements his status as one of the top fighters in the lightweight division and sets his sights on future challenges in the boxing world.
