The name Lawa's Gym comes from owner Matthieu Lawalata's last name. LAWA at the same time at our gym stands for Learn, Absorb, Work, Achieve. Learning together from and with each other (Learn), absorbing it into yourself so that it really becomes something of your own (Absorb), working with it and working hard (Work) and achieving your goals, whatever they may be, together (Achieve). All this in a safe and fun learning environment where Respect, Discipline and Perseverance are the pillars in our lessons. The warrior in the logo is derived from the Moluccan roots of owner Matthieu Lawalata and symbolizes a Moluccan warrior. The warrior of course also applies to the Martial Arts/Self Defense in which we teach. Fighting is in the broadest sense of the word. Fighting for more confidence, fighting to feel fitter or fighting to make yourself more resilient and stand up for yourself, fighting during competitions etc. Together we fight to achieve your goals, whatever they may be. Together we: Learn Absorb Work Achieve, and of course having Fun doing it!

Not enough money to practice a martial art?
Together with Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur, Warrior Code wants to make martial arts available to everybody.
Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur makes it possible for children and young people who do not have enough money to participate in kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) or, for example, dance or music lessons. The Jeugdfonds pays the tuition and materials.
Is Lawa's Gym your business?
When you claim your business you can get access to the Warrior Code Organization management tool. This allows you as a business owner to update your gym profile in our gym finder and promote events. This allows you to get more online visibility for your gym or events. In the spring of 2025 you will also get access to services developed specifically for martial arts trainers and clubs, which we offer in cooperation with the Dutch Institute for Martial Arts and Society (NIVM). Additionally, you will receive extra promotion through a commercial break in our talk show Warrior Talk, and have a chance to be selected as Gym of the Week, putting you in the spotlight for a week on our site, social media channels and in the podcast Op De Bank.
