Aikido is fun and stimulates your health. You gradually discover what ‘Ki’ is; you become aware of this flow of energy the longer you train. By keeping in touch and ‘staying in your centre’, you learn to neutralise an attack instead of injuring your attacker. Aikido is fascinating to experience. In our dojo we practice aikido under the guidance of Dick Willems Sensei and following the example of Shihan Erik Louw.

In bujitsu, the effectiveness of the techniques is paramount: it is about winning a fight. In this, the opponent can lose his life or suffer injury. In budo, which also includes aikido, overcoming the opponent is no longer central. In budo, the real opponent is yourself, you practice budo with the aim of making yourself a better person. Aikido is therefore primarily a path to personal development. Aikido can therefore not really be called a sport. There are also no competitions in aikido.

Aikidojo Poort is the association for aikido in Almere Poort. Aikido is a Japanese martial art that was developed over a hundred years ago. With aikido you learn to defend yourself with techniques instead of aggression and you develop control of your body in a relaxed way. We organize aikido lessons in Almere Poort for youth and adults.

Aikido is a self-defense art suitable for young and old, men and women. You train together and at the same time for yourself at your own pace and according to your own ability. As a student of Aikido-Almere you follow the lessons in the Dojo on the Amsterdamweg in Almere-Stad. There are 4 lessons per week for youth, adults and combined lessons. The students also follow internships in our dojo but also at other dojos. During these internships, (inter)nationally renowned Aikidoka's teach. At the same time you become a member of Aikidovereniging Seika-No-Itten. Through this association we are a member of Aikido Bond Nederland and NOC/NSF.
