Sranang men!
I think this tournament is going to be an absolute blast. A rock-hard tournament. Great matches and really top fighters. No weak guys.
That said.
GLORY Kickboxing(robbie looks), you guys just helped tarik be the first choice. Tarik knew exactly which ball to take. Everybody knows that, he demanded that. Just like Rico demanded that. What you have to ask yourself as an organization is whether you want to have "champions " who take the easy way out. Rico did that and khbabez is doing that now. Only difference is that tarik just rock hard and openly says "yes, I choose the easiest" instead of "highest ranked" blabla.
As an organization, do you want to have champs who don't dare to knock against the best? What are those titles worth then????? Or do they want guys like badr and remy who went directly at kareav (badr) instead of choosing tactically. And remy who just didn't do a headlock and went straight to zimmerman because zimmerman called him. And then that beating after that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Smali and tayfun officially at glory
The bracket of the lightheavyweight grandprix looks thick! Tarik is just honest and admits that he chose the easiest one, he doesn't beat around the bush like Rico did. No excuses
Remy and Marinho,
I actually disagree with you at all, and here's why.
Chico Kwasi has won all of his matches convincingly since joining Glory and therefore deserves a title shot. Because he has won all these matches consecutively, this title fight became more and more exciting, interesting and deserving for Chico. Now he has won this title fight from Endy Semeleer, and is now the Welterweight champion.
Robbie Timmers must now start building another Welterweight fighter who, like Chico Kwasi, will earn a titleshot. Perhaps, for example, a Jay Overmeer #3 or Hamicha #2 can now start building to the new challenger for the titleshot by winning matches. This indeed means that Tyjani Bestati and Endy Semeleer have to win a few more matches in the Welterweight division to get another titleshot. Also because otherwise all other top fighters from the current division will be passed over at once by someone who comes from a completely different weight division or recently lost to the current champion, that would be really ridiculous in my eyes.
Furthermore, I rate Tyjani and Endy highest in the division that they will take the title again soon. But it will be much more interesting if they first win the division and then fight for the title. This way the title fights will be much more built and hyped up.
Finally, especially towards Marinho, I don't think Endy should adjust anything at all and doesn't need to go back to the drawing board. He has had an almost undefeated record and put down really good real kickboxing. Now he ran into a questionable spinning backfist / backelbow once from which he did not recover, and lost because of it. Also towards Endy, just had bad luck, head up, swallow it away and schedule next match, there is nothing wrong at all. This is martial arts, this can happen.
