Hahahaaha Rico just calls himself the Jon Jones of kickboxing. What. What an ego xD
So Rico admits here to poking all his opponents in the eyes, beating women, driving around drunk and driving on after collisions? That's quite something.
Or was he referring more to the fact that they both rather like to try to avoid strong opponents?
I think he was referring to the similarity in ducking Don Sno as Jon does mer Aspinal😂
Or not fighting for more than a year due to injury and still keeping your title.
So many similarities those 2.
Glory kickboxing is really one of the few branches that dare to pay fighters less in these inflationary times. I think the best thing for the board of glory is to sell it ASAP to an arabian who can pay fighters and get the full potential out of it. There is so much money to be milked out of the glory concept but Glory directors now only make the wrong moves and it has been irritating for a long time while fighters do their best but in the Netherlands alone there is just nothing to get. Just look at the press conferences used to be quite a sensation in itself you were just waiting for the press conference before the fight. Nowadays the fighters don't even feel like it anymore and if they do something crazy like kromah they get tackled on it. Holland will never give credit to the fighting culture because according to the cockroaches in Holland we are outsiders just like foreigners. While Holland is the best kickboxing country in the world but they see kickboxers as scum. Kickboxing in the netherlands could even become a tourist attraction just like in thailand. Right now only levi na rico fits as the face of glory it has to be a decent guy otherwise the white media wants nothing to do with it. If jamal or plazibat won from rico it was over with glory that's why rico is protected so much. WE JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH RACISM IN THE NETHERLANDS!!!!
You mention the press conferences. That already says it all. Today's fighters fight to "not lose. Little spectacle. If Verhoeven is the great example for every kickboxer then the sport will die out even faster. Says nothing challenging, doesn't fight for spectacle. Instead of sensation and action you get boring demonstration matches. With occasionally at the events you still see Rising stars like Kromah and Caceres who do deliver thrills.
Flogging Glory will come at a great loss, after all you can ask a lot for something when there is either scarcity ( not the case ) or when there is a success formula and unfortunately for Glory for both cases this is not the case at all.
Glory should be happy if they still get some nods for the K-1 rights they have to use material, even if they do so in promos in 240 pixels in terms of quality, however in bankruptcy these rights go to the highest bidder and since there are hardly any large organizations this means a loss here as well.
Glory just needs to make things more profitable and that is cutting the biggest expenses A Rico's salary, B having the ring girls come over from America for every event, C Timmers having to come over from Thailand every time D the commentators from Glory itself having to come from America/Canada and E Tim Hughes as ring announcer and Zelaznik as CEO at events.
Since Glory is mainly focused on NL, just have a Dutch commentary duo who will cover the match integrally for Glory itself as well as transfer the signal to the stream of possibly videoland!
The shortest hit at this point is to finish Rico champion, Glory then has the options of breaking open his contract or putting him in less. And then keep a hand on the purse strings for Rigters that he is not going to extract a giga gage in his negotiations.
In that regard I am repeating myself Glory has no long-term vision!
Does Glory invite enough influencers from different industries during these events?
Glory should become a franchise in every big european country they should do what they have in nl and then every year from every country and every division the champions against each other so the french HW and the german HW and the belgian against each other in a tournament they should go global every month 5 or more galas in different countries otherwise glory is not going to make it glory should become fifa of kickboxing only so they will pay those fighters otherwise you will see tarik working in health care as a freelancer
Glory is sinking. Sponsors are walking away. Videoland is probably quitting now, too. Nothing is planned for the new year. Fighters are complaining about low revenue. A franchise is not going to work. You have smaller organizations in various countries that don't want to grow.
If Tarik wins over Abena, then you can make double champ Tarik vs Levi or Rico.
Hadar and Touchassie are with Said and both middleweights. That's going to be exciting. Battle of the real Badr 😆
Now that Touchassie is with Said, it doesn't seem like an illogical move by Glory to make Serkan vs. Touchassie in the future.
